John Scott, the owner of Scott Home Service, LLC lives in Rosemount, MN with his wife, Dana, their two sons, Jake and Sam, and their dog Willy. He’s lived in Rosemount since 2006 where his sons are now a senior and sophomore at RHS.

I began working in the trades painting apartments at the age of 14 for a family company in Eden Prairie, MN. By my early 20’s, I realized that creating, and being a part of creating, projects that customers could feel, touch, and enjoy was something I loved…an office/desk job wasn’t in my future! I started my own painting and finishing company that focused primarily on high end custom cabinet finishing and the painting that came along with extensive remodel work. A few years into owning that business, I began working more and more with another remodeling contractor, eventually transitioning into full-time remodel work and project management for small-scale home renovations where I finally began a new venture, Scott Home Service, LLC.

Throughout 30 some years in the trades, I’ve had my hands in a bit of just about everything. From painting and drywall, to framing, custom cabinetry, and helping our plumbers and electricians when they need an extra hand, I can truly say that by experience I’ve come to appreciate just how important and impactful every ingredient that goes into the job is in ensuring that what comes out is something you’re proud to call YOUR work. It’s been a lot of fun and something that’s been quite rewarding to be a part of. I hope to have the opportunity to be a part of your project too.
